For two people who share a life

Decide together, on one page.

Every assistant serves one account with one memory. Nothing that matters in a shared life is decided alone. SameFold is a decision space for the two of you: each of you writes your side, you both see one picture, and you decide and write down why.

The opening screen: What is open between you? Eight topics such as Moving, Money and big spends, Children, Family and in-laws.
A shared picture: two overlapping fields, then Where you already agree and The real difference.

How it goes

Four steps, and neither of you sees the other's answers early.

1

You write your side

Five minutes of specific questions. Not a chat, a structured pass over what you need, what you are afraid of, and where you can move.

2

They write theirs

They answer the same questions on their own phone. Neither of you sees the other's answers until both are written.

3

You both see one picture

Where you already agree, what the real difference is, what neither of you knows yet, and three ways forward with what each one costs both of you.

4

You decide, and write down why

One path, the assumption you are making, and a date to look at it again.

Your partner does not pay. Your position summary is yours even if they never join.

An example, in the real structure

Nadia and Tom, on moving.

Together four years, in Tom's flat for two of them. Nadia has raised moving three times since spring. It has not turned into a fight; it turns into a pause. This is the picture they both saw.

Nadia

Needs a home that is theirs rather than his, with room for the work she brings home. Afraid that if this keeps getting deferred, the answer is really no and nobody has said it.

Tom

Needs to know what the move actually costs before he agrees to it, and needs the savings not to go to zero. Afraid of being the one who made the money tight.

Where you already agree

  • You both want to move. Neither of you has argued for staying in this flat past this lease.
  • You both want to stay in this part of the city.
  • You both treat the savings as a shared floor, not as separate money.

The real difference

Nadia needs a date so she can stop wondering what the pauses mean; Tom needs a number before a date means anything to him. This is a difference in timing, not in direction.

What is missing

  • What a two-bedroom in this neighbourhood actually costs per month right now.
  • What the current lease requires if you leave it early.
  • How much of the savings you both consider untouchable.

Three ways forward

Set a decision date, and spend the next four weeks finding the number
Nadia gains a date, and an end to reading meaning into the pauses. It costs four more weeks of not knowing the answer. Tom gains the number before the commitment. It costs a date he has agreed to before he has the number.
Move at the end of this lease, with a ceiling on the monthly payment
Nadia gains a real move with a real date. It costs a smaller place than she pictured if the ceiling binds. Tom gains a limit he sets, not one imposed on him. It costs committing to move before he knows what fits under the ceiling.
Renew for one year, with the money question settled in writing first
Nadia gains the money conversation finally happening. It costs another year in a flat that is his. Tom gains a year of savings and no rushed decision. It costs carrying the reason the move did not happen.

What it is, and is not

It never takes a side.

  • The two colours are equal, measured in a perceptual colour space, and a test keeps them that way. The picture is written twice with the positions swapped before a model is trusted with it.
  • It is not therapy, not advice and not a verdict. It is the same page, so the two of you can decide.
  • There is no chat. The unit is a decision, and every decision stays in your record with the assumption you made and the date you said you would look again.
  • No streaks, no badges, no confetti. The subject is serious and the app behaves like it.
  • If what you write suggests someone is in danger, the flow stops and shows a real number for your country before anything else.

Pricing

The first decision is $4.99, full quality, no trial.

One person pays. Once a decision is open it stays open for as long as you need it: every round, every re-read, the check-in months later. Prices are set by the App Store and may differ by country; the app always shows the current one.

Privacy

What you write stays in your own iCloud and your partner's.

The server keeps counts, never words. Your text passes through our server to the model on the way to your picture and is not stored or logged there, and the model is used with storage switched off. There is no analytics kit, no advertising and no account to create. Read the whole policy.
